In the framework of our cooperation, we inform you that we were present at EIBTM 2010 from 30/11/10 until 02/12/10, like every year and we participated again at HAPCO's stand as co-exhibitor and at the main stand of G.T.O. We informed the foreign professional buyers, who visited us, on our country's unique potentials and infrastructures, which are able to attract congress tourism, by providing them the congress guide of 2010 and the CD-ROM, as well as giving information on our digital edition and our 3 important sites on the INTERNET www.conferencesgreece.gr, www.conferencesgreece.travel and www.hapco.gr.
Despite the bad international economic trend, EIBTM due to its really good organization had a satisfactory turnout of congress tourism buyers .Many of them with great interest for our country, approached Greece's stand.
Due to the structure and function of the exhibition, the Administration of G.T.O. of Spain, which did a really good job, was in charge of the trade visitors' briefing, and like every year its duty will be to send to all the co-exhibitors the respective requests.
There is moderate optimism for the M.I.C.E. market and most of the indexes, of the congress markets in global level, indicate the improvement of business conditions for 2011 (annual report of EIBTM Global Industry Trends and Market Share Report).
Giving this chance, I am sending you a list of Host Buyers &Trade Visitors, whom I personally informed and they demonstrated a great interest for Congresses and Incentives in Greece and we have invited them with hundreds of emails from the last two years Pre-buyers lists that EIBTM had send us. Today, all of them received by e-mail, at their offices, the digital edition of congress tourism of HAPCO and of HELLENIC SUN EDITIONS, proving for once more, that we offer to everybody the most comprehensive promotional offers and an absolutely useful tool of information and communication for the force, the infrastructure and the potentialities of Greece to attract congress tourism in various activities.
Once more, there was great interest for Greece and the terminus is to carry in effect this by co-operations. In order to achieve this we must immediately redefine the congress product and prepare suggestions for a variety of activities, congresses, incentives, events etc. and at the same time combining activities with emphasis on civilization, nature, gastronomy etc.
Complementary information will follow, as soon as the Spain's G.T.O. will send the equivalent information with names of Hosted Buyers to HAPCO and the co-exhibitors.

Despite the hard times we are facing, there was there is and there will be strong interest for Greece. Now more than ever we must immediately redefine our targets, by attracting people and groups with high income and buying interest, revising many of until today well known data and designing new packages, with parallel actions and absolute quality services.

Within the context of our cooperation, we would like to inform you that once again this year we participated in the World Travel Market (WTM 2010) in London, with a booth inside the exhibition stand of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). We had the opportunity to inform trade visitors about the potential and the infrastructure of our country and get them in contact with the leading Greek tourist enterprises advertised with us.
We talked to foreign trade visitors (tour operators, travel agents, wholesalers, independent travel agents) who responded to tens of invitations that we e-mailed through the WTM site one month prior to the event asking them to visit our booth and give us the opportunity to get them in contact with you. Our main message being "we invite you to get acquainted with Greece, the ideal destination for all forms of tourism year-round", we informed our visitors about the infrastructure and the potential of our country to attract new forms of tourism and we offered them our publications with the accompanying CD-ROMs. We also encouraged them to visit our very own Web sites at www.helsun.gr, www.conferencesgreece.gr, www.alternativegreece.gr, which enjoy top ranking in the leading search engines (GOOGLE, YAHOO, MSN, MSN, BING, ALTAVISTA, YANTEX, SEARCH, AOL) and high visitability - which you can verify yourselves (unique advantage).
In a difficult year and amid a global financial crisis, Greek tourism shows resilience. There is controlled optimism for 2011, mainly coming from the British market, with reservations reaching 10% and things looking more promising than 2010.
Despite fierce competition and the oligopolic-monopolistic policies followed by the tour operators, the low prices that they ask, our national revenue shortfalls etc., the specific market presents interest and should be immediately explored while redefining our tourist product with well organized packages with emphasis on new forms of tourism such as cultural tourism, sea tourism (yachting, cruises, incentives, luxury tourism, conferences, outdoor activities etc) and attract quality tourists.
