Unique of its kind in Greece, and possibly in the world, the "Komboloi" Museum was founded in 1998 by Komboloi collector and manufacturer Aris Evangelinos. The top floor of the founder's workshop houses a collection of approximately 300 Komboloi pieces, of a total of 700 comprising the grand collection, dating back to 1750 through 1950. A collection of Komboloi made from amber, corral, "yusur" (a type of black corral), ivory and mother of pearl collected by the founder during his travels to Tibet, Nepal, India, Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Turkey are displayed inside the aesthetic showcases of this beautiful, small museum.
